Mary Laura Philpott

Mary Laura Philpott is the author of the essay collection I Miss You When I Blink (Simon & Schuster / Atria Books); the author and illustrator of a little humor book called Penguins with People Problems; a writer whose work appears in publications including The New York Times, The Paris Review, The Washington Post, McSweeney’s, Garden & Gun, and others; the founding editor of MUSING, the online magazine published by Parnassus Books; and an Emmy-award winning co-host of A Word on Words, a literary interview show on Nashville Public Television.

Emily Skaja

Emily Skaja is the author of the debut poetry collection, Brute (Graywolf Press). The book is a fiery, hypnotic group of poems that confronts the dark questions and menacing silences around gender, sexuality, and violence. The book won the prestigious Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets.

Skaja grew up in rural Illinois and is a graduate of the creative writing MFA program at Purdue University. Her poems have been published in Best New Poets, Blackbird, Crazyhorse, FIELD, and Gulf Coast. She lives in Memphis.

Dazz & Brie

Dazz & Brie is the rock and soul duo of Dazzmin Murry of North Little Rock and Kabrelyn “Brie” Boyce of Atlanta, Texas. The duo and their band combine heavy rock instrumentation with soulful harmonies to create music that transcends all ages. Their sophomore project, Can’t Chase Girls and Your Money Too, combines a blend of acid rock, funk, and country. Their first CD is Can’t Afford California. Dazz & Brie have two songs featured in Tyler Perry’s 2018 film, Nobody’s Fool, a romantic comedy starring Tiffany Haddish, Tika Sumpter and Whoopi Goldberg

Abe Partridge

Abe Partridge, is a songwriter/artist from Mobile, AL. He is signed to Skate Mountain Records and his CDs include White Trash Lipstick and his latest, Cotton Fields and Blood For Days. Patridge’s past includes a stint as an evangelical minister and serving with the Air Force in Qatar in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Partridge’s rootsy songwriting reflects his influences: Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Townes Van Zant and the late Blaze Foley.
